Tennis court construction existing courts.
(With New Asphalt )
Preparation -
Pavement shall be cleaned with power blowers to insure that all debris and foreign matter is properly removed. Ridges and imperfections shall be scraped smooth. with appropriate cleaning procedures this can warrant that proper bonding will be achieved with the new surface.
Crack Repair -
Prior to the installation of crack sealer all cracks larger than 1/2" shall be cleaned to the depth of approximately one inch.
All cracks than shall be sealed with WR Meadows hot applied crack sealer.
Crack Repair Fabric -
All repaired cracks shall be covered with TAPE COAT M-860. Repaired cracks shall be covered with 12 " Fabric. Due to ground movement crack repairs can not be guaranteed
Petro Matt -
The entire court surface shall be primed with AC-10 and the petro matt shall be laid into the AC while it is still hot. This is a water proofing fabric and also acts as a crack retardant.
Paving & Surfacing -
Bituminous surface. A surface course of bituminous concrete having a maximum aggregate size of 3\8 inches shall be installed with a mechanical spreader having a compacted thickness of not less than 1.5 inches. The mix shall be thoroughly compacted to 97% or more of the density (ASTM F2726) . The surface course shall not vary more than 1/8 inch in 10 feet when measured in any direction. Final surface inspection:
Prior to the application of a color finish system the court shall be flooded with water and allowed to drain for 30 minutes. Than if water covers a five cent piece in any area, that area shall be patched and leveled with court patch binder.
5 - Coat color System
Color system -
The all-weather surfacing materials specified herein are products of California Products Corporation. Under no circumstances will a surfacing products produced from different sources be used.
Application - A thorough cleaning of the surface by sweeping, vacuuming and air blowing should be done on all courts. In order to provide a smooth dense underlay for acrylic color courses, one (2) application of acrylic resurface shall be applied to the surface.
No applications shall be covered by a succeeding application until thoroughly cured. Color Coats - Fortified Plexipave shall be applied by rubber squeegee on the clean dry surface in two (2) applications to obtain a quantity of 60-90 gallons per 800 square yards prior to dilution.
A dilution rate not to exceed one part water, two parts Plexipave.
After application of Plexipave filler coat, one coat of Plexcrome finish shall be applied. All applications shall thoroughly cure. The diluted material shall be homogeneous. Segregation before or during applications will not be permitted. The finish surface shall have a uniform appearance and ` be free from ridges and tool marks. Playing Lines - Two (2) inch wide playing lines shall be accurately located, marked, and painted with Plexicolor Line Paint as specified by U.S. Tennis Association. Lines shall be taped to assure razor sharp edges prior to painting. Two (2) coats of Plexicolor Line Paint shall be applied. Spraying of the lines will not be accepted.
Nets-
Net posts will be adjusted to the new surface height. Center tie downs shall be replaced with new tie downs.
Fencing
All fencing that needs to be removed for construction shall be restored in its original condition.
